Four things you should know about our new line of Bluetooth Low Energy active data loggers

USB data loggers have been an important part of the life science temperature monitoring process for years. They have dramatically improved the safety of the drug distribution process by allowing the accurate measurement of temperature data at set points along the supply journey.
However, emerging technology is giving life science companies more visibility and access to live data than they’ve ever had before.

Our Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) active data loggers for in-transit and storage monitoring automatically send data to our cloud platform, removing the need for manual steps and creating a simplified and seamless temperature monitoring process that saves time and money while consigning data gaps to the history books.

Here are four significant benefits of this new approach:

Access to live data

Data gaps can be an unfortunate feature of a manual conventional logger’s process. This can make it difficult to compile full drug histories, but it also means that even excursions that fall within pre-defined stability result in a time-consuming quarantine. Live data from seamless temperature monitoring changes this.

For example, using the TempTracer BLE data logger and the TSS Cloud or TSS mobile app, supply chain professionals have instant access to a continuous stream of live data for every stage of transit. Instant notifications of excursions reduce delays and enable data-driven decision-making.

Seamless connectivity

Harnessing the transformative potential of IoT is at the top of many pharma companies’ strategic priorities. We are helping to make it a reality by simply allowing multiple devices to interact together without the need for manual input. The TSS Cloud platform provides complete visibility by collecting data from manufacturing to dispensing from any connected TSS BLE device.  Users don’t have to manually log data using USB sticks anymore, so they can get on with other parts of their role.

Our new active data loggers meet all your security and GxP compliance needs, no matter how long the journey, place for storage or which modes of transport are being used.

Flexibility

BLE technology has some significant advantages over other technology options. Firstly, its minimal power consumption means that it can provide live data for longer, whereas as an example, GPS technology has more limited battery life. The fact that the global infrastructure for Bluetooth is already in place, and most devices are already compatible, is a huge plus too. It means there are fewer restrictions around its use, like GPS and air travel, and no need for expensive proprietary hardware like Radio Frequency ID.

In fact, our BLE data loggers provide seamless temperature monitoring wherever there is ethernet, wi-fi or cellular network coverage, which is pretty much everywhere today.

Sustainability

Our Bluetooth active data loggers are designed to minimize the environmental footprint and enable processes that build towards a leaner, greener future. Everyone has a part to play in the transition to a low-carbon economy, and a commitment to sustainability is one of TSS’s core values as an organization. By harnessing technologies like BLE, we hope to make a crucial contribution to creating more sustainable supply chains.

Supply chains simplified

At TSS, we have been working with the life science industry for 30 years to reduce workloads, make processes better and make it simpler to deliver even better experiences for site teams. Our Bluetooth temperature monitoring solution is all about eliminating the issues that come with a reliance on time-consuming, manual tasks.

Technology is transforming every part of the life sciences industry, improving supply chain and manufacturing processes and unleashing a host of new products and services. Our Bluetooth solutions ensure that temperature monitoring and drug shipment are part of this wave of innovation too.

Can You Rely on the Results from Your Clinical Trials?

The success of a clinical trial depends on the reliability of its data. Many investigational drugs are sensitive to temperature, and any temperature deviation can affect their quality and, in the worst case, patient safety. Automated and integrated temperature monitoring solutions help secure data quality, support compliance, and speed up the delivery of new medicines to patients.
